Topmec Oy

Topmec Oy, founded in 1993, is an engineering workshop and a company offering interior installations for cruise ships

Main field of operation

The majority of our customers are in the wood handling and heavy steel industry, and the main part of our production consists in the manufacture and installation of conveyors and conveyor bridges.

Our other main field of operation is cruise ship cabin interior installations. Flexible production and professional staff form the basis for Topmec’s competitive strength. The total number of staff is 30.

Know-how

We have the experience and know-how to manage projects starting from basic design and including all necessary elements: materials, production, transport, installation, testing, and coordination until the whole delivery is approved by the client.

Conveyors

Since 1993 Topmec Oy has designed, manufactured and installed over 30 km of different types of conveyors. We are capable of producing and handling up to 55 metre-long conveyor segments together with their drive and tension stations. We equip all of our conveyors to be lifting-ready at the engineering works.

Steel structures

Different CE-marked steel structures are an essential part of our operations. Steel structures enable the building of durable and versatile constructs and different lines. We produce structures such as hall frameworks, silos and containers. We can also supply all of our structures installed, and if required, we also install and supply all required insulations and roofing structures according to the client’s wishes.

Ship interiors

In 1998 Topmec Oy started providing interior work for cruise ships being built in Finland, at shipyards in Helsinki, Rauma and Turku. We began our work with RCCL shipping company’s Voyager of the Seas ship and have successfully continued our interior work ever since. At the moment at the Turku shipyard we are building a third ship for a cruise ship line commissioned by the Tui-Cruises company, called Mein Schiff 5. For these cruise ships, our interior contract includes the interior contracts for 544 passenger cabins and the overall area to be installed is about 14,700 m2. In 2012, we expanded our cruise ship interior work to also include alteration work carried out at different dockyards in different parts of the world. We have completed numerous cruise ship interior and alteration works in countries such as Singapore, the Bahamas, Spain and France.
